Ad–Hoc of the Secretary–General

Hi! My name is Nicholas Carone, I'm a junior here at Berkeley and will be the chair in our oh so special secret Ad Hoc! I grew up in Los Angeles just down the street from the studios in Burbank. Beyond MUN, I am an die-hard lakers fan who also enjoys trying new foods food,  new music, and creative writing (Don't ask me or I wont be able to stop). I also participate in Cal's Greek Life and write for Berkeley Political Review(but I promise we're Bear-ly Political). 

Last year, I was the Under Secretary General for UCBMUN XXIX's AdHoc, UNSC, and JCC, oh and I CCDed for that JCC due to some last minute staff surprises. I had such a great time, but it was definitely a chaotic weekend for me. This year, I hope to pass that feeling of chaos on to you guys! I've competed in my fair share of Ad Hocs and I've seen the sweat fests filled with treacherous eunuchs sitting in every chair. For a little change of pace, I promise this will be the most unserious MUN weekend you could possibly experience on the circuit. And that I take very seriously. (but still some treachery ngl)

Rory and I way too many fun twists and challenges planned for our time together in March, so get excited, sleuth about, and mentally prepare for the most chillax, rambunctious (chillabunctious?) committee of all time! Hi everyone!! 

My name is Rory, and welcome to SADHOC! I am so excited to be serving as your Crisis Director for the duration of what is going to be such an exciting (and chaotic) weekend! 

To tell you a little bit about myself: I’m currently from Orange County, California; however, I have moved around quite a bit and have spent a good amount of my life living overseas, mostly in Belfast, Northern Ireland. I am a second-year student at Cal studying Political Science and French, and I have been a part of UCBMUN since the fall of my first year on campus. UCBMUN has since become a very large and important part of my life at Berkeley, and I have previously served as a USG of BearMUN (our high school conference) and am currently serving as a Head Delegate. Outside of MUN, I am super involved with a few of Berkeley’s student advocacy organizations, and I also love to read, listen to music, explore new matcha places, travel, and, of course, soak up the sun on the glade (when Bay Area weather permits!). 

I am so looking forward to meeting you all and seeing what creative, innovative crisis arcs you are going to come up with (on the spot 😁). I hope you guys are as excited as I am and ready for all of the tricks and twists that both Nick and I have up our sleeves :) See you all in San Francisco!
