Eurovision Song Contest 2026: Vienna

Background Guide coming soon!

About the Committee

Step into the dazzling world of music, politics, and cultural diplomacy with the Eurovision Song Contest Committee. Representing nations from across Europe (and beyond), delegates will not only craft and promote their country’s entry but also navigate the complex web of alliances, rivalries, and public opinion that define Eurovision. Behind the glitter and spectacle lies the high-stakes strategy of bloc voting, media influence, and soft power projection. Will your delegation secure the coveted victory through artistry, persuasion, or shrewd political maneuvering? Join us for a committee where music meets international relations, and every vote counts. We can’t wait to see you all on stage in Vienna this spring!

Meet the Dais

ESHAL NAQVI

Chair

Hi, and welcome to EUROVISION! My name is Eshal Naqvi (she/her), and I’m thrilled to serve as one of your chairs for this year's Eurovision-inspired committee. I’m a third year at UC Berkeley, on the pre-law track double majoring in Political Science and Ethnic Studies. I’m from Riverside, California although I grew up around the Bay. I’ve been in UCBMUN since my freshman year, and throughout my time have served on the D.E.I. Committee and as various chairs throughout the semesters. In my free time, I love exploring and rating new food spots on beli, drinking lethal amounts of coffee, hanging out with cats, and reading. I was drawn to helping chair this committee because I’ve enjoyed following Eurovision throughout the years and can’t wait to work with Anna to make this an enjoyable and exciting experience for you all! I can’t wait to see how you all engage with the world of Eurovision and bring your own insight, strategy, and creativity to the committee!

Best,
ESHAL NAQVI

ANNA LIEGGI

Chair

Hi! My name is Anna Lieggi, and I’m a rising third-year at UC Berkeley majoring in Political Science and Global Studies, with a concentration in peace and conflict in Europe and Russia. I’m originally from Irvine, California, and outside of MUN, I love hiking, traveling, and listening to music, anything from John Summit to The Cranberries. I’ve been involved with UCBMUN since my freshman year and had the honor of serving as Secretary-General of BEARMUN, our high school conference, last year. I’m beyond excited to be staffing this Eurovision committee, not just because I’m a huge fan of the contest, but because it’s full of political drama, amazing songs, and camaraderie. I’ve been watching Eurovision for the past 15 years and one of my favorite songs, Fairytale by Alexander Rybak is a must listen to. Also, getting to chair with one of my friends, Eshal, will make this committee even better. I can’t wait to see how delegates bring Eurovision 2026 to life!

Best,
ANNA LIEGGI
